Manchester United displayed a resilient performance as they began their Premier League season with 1-0 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday.
It was Kyle Walker's own goal in 22 minutes that put his side into the lead in the opening match of the season, the BBC reported.
Tottenham, who finished at fifth position in the last Premier League season, gave tough competition to the United but they couldn't stop the defeat.
Midfielder Juan Mata and winger Memphis Depay also made several efforts to increase their lead but could not succeed.
United will now play their next match against Aston Villa at Villa Park, Birmingham, on August 15.
