Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has said that attacking the police will bring no good and if there are issues it has to be settled through a proper dialogue.

"Attacking the police will bring no good. If there are issue it has to be settled through proper dialogue," Ibobi said at the inaugural function of Tengnoupal and Kangpokpi districts.

Deputy Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, Local MLA, village chiefs and other civil society leaders were present during the inauguration of the newly created revenue districts.

Of the seven newly created districts, three have been officially inaugurated.

Speaking at the inaugural function organised by the Tengnoupal district celebration committee, Ibobi said the districts are being created for the convenience of the administration.

Later, Ibobi Singh along with his ministerial team inaugurated the Kangpokpi district.

At Kangpokpi, Kuki armed groups operating at the area are stated to be on high alert following the news of the ambush to state force by suspected cadres of the NSCN-IM.

The National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) has been openly opposing the creation of the new district.

A few days back, the NSCN-IM which is presently ensuing in peace talk with the government of India has threatened serious consequences if the decision for creation of new district has not been withdrawn.
