Commenting on the Gujarat government's depiction of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as disputed areas in a map, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said if there has been an error it will be corrected, and added that there was no need to turn the matter into a big issue.

"If there is an error, it should be corrected, and we will see to it that it is corrected by talking to the concerned department. But people do make mistakes, there is no point in making this such a big issue," said Rijiju, adding, "There is no surrender, its due to perception of line as there is no demarcation of border."

On Monday, the Gujarat government came under strong criticism for projecting the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as disputed regions, in a map, circulated during the signing of memorandums with China on September 17.

The Congress termed it a major error as the goof-up took place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
