Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has invited party leaders of both the Houses for a meeting in Vidhan Sabha on Saturday to discuss the ongoing Maratha protest.
Talking to media, Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil confirmed the news and said that the law and order situation in the state due to the Maratha agitation should be discussed by all parties.
"Law and order in the state due to Maratha Reservation should be discussed by all parties. So, Chief Minister Fadnavis has invited party leaders of both houses for a meeting in Vidhan Sabha on Saturday," Patil said after the Chief Minister's meeting with state BJP ministers and party MLAs.
Earlier, Fadnavis chaired a meeting with BJP ministers and party legislators from the Maratha community to discuss the ongoing Maratha quota stir.
The members of Maratha community have been protesting across the state demanding reservation in government jobs and education.
Besides reservation for the Maratha community, loan waiver, Kopardi rape and unemployment are some of the other issues against which the community is protesting.
On Thursday, a Maratha Kranti Morcha riot victim who was injured in a clash between protestors and police in Navi Mumbai succumbed to his injuries.
So far, two protestors have taken their lives demanding reservations for Marathas while one, who also attempted suicide is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
