The nation on Wednesday paid homage to the three great freedom fighters - Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day.
It was on this day, in 1931 that they were martyred in Lahore jail and cremated on the banks of Satluj river at Hussainiwala in Ferozpur district of Punjab.
The Petroleum Ministry has set up Amar Jyoti at the National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala which will be inaugurated today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi said, "I bow to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day & salute their indomitable valour & patriotism that inspires generations."
"In the prime of their youth, these 3 brave men sacrificed their lives so that generations after them can breathe the air of freedom," he added.
