A Gurugram sessions court on Saturday sentenced thirteen persons to life imprisonment and five-year jail term to four in the 2012 Maruti factory violence case.

During final arguments, the prosecution had demanded death penalty for 13 workers accused in the case.

Earlier on March 10, the court had convicted 31 workers for violence at the factory in Manesar in 2012 which led to the death of a general manager and injuring 100 others.

The court also acquitted 117 workers whose names were mentioned in the chargesheet on the basis of lack of evidence.
