Matt Damon is in talks with Legendary Pictures for a lead role in 'The Great Wall', it has been revealed.
Chinese helmer Zhang Yimou has been signed on to direct the movie and the script is penned by Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, but the most recent draft is penned by Tony Gilroy who knows Damon in from 'Bourne Identity' films, Deadline.com reported.
'The Great Wall' revolves around the mystery behind why the Great Wall was built, and the secrets hidden beneath its stones.
The film will be produced by Thomas Tull, Chuck Roven, Jon Jashni, Richard Suckle and Peter Loehr. Jillian Share, Bennett and Alex Gartner will executive produce.
