He was my protector and confidant, says Nicole Kidman on father's funeral

Nicole Kidman paid tribute to her late father Antony Kidman during his funeral recently saying that he was her protector, confidant and friend during the hard times.

The 47-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who attended the ceremony held at Sydney's north shore with husband Keith Urban and their two children, said that he was the kind of father who took care of her during her divorce with Tom Cruise, told her things would be fine when she was upset, and even backed her up on the forged parent signature in principal's office, News.co.au reported.

Also present at the ceremony were Kidman's younger sister Antonia Kidman, husband Craig Marran and their six children, along with Russell Crowe, his former wife Danielle Spencer and Dick Smith, who paid their respects to the renowned Sydney based clinical psychologist, 75, who died from an apparent heart attack in Singapore recently.

Meanwhile, Dr Kidman's wife Janelle too remembered her spouse as a "wonderful vibrant man" who loved his family and would "never be forgotten.
