Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday questioned why the government had taken no action against External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the Lalit Modi row while demanding criminal proceedings against the former IPL chief.
"Why has the government not taken any action against Swaraj, who has misused her official position by helping fugitive former IPL chief Lalit Modi," Mayawati said in the Parliament.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned today amid massive opposition uproar over the Lalit Modi controversy.
Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Veerappa Moily had earlier moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha over the issue.
The opposition has been demanding that Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje should be sacked for allegedly helping Lalit Modi.
