Unbeaten US boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has claimed that he is hopeful that a fight with Filipino politician and boxer Manny Pacquiao, but an agreement between the two has not yet been reached.
Mayweather and Pacquiao had recently exchanged phone numbers at a US basketball game.
WBC and WBA welterweight champion Mayweather claimed that he hasn't signed yet and added that the Filipino hasn't signed yet, the BBC reported.
Eight-division world champion Pacquiao, and Mayweather, a world champion at five weights, are considered the best fighters of their generation.
Mayweather said that it's just been speculations and rumours, but added that he is hopeful that they can make the fight happen.
Pacquiao's publicist Fred Sternburg recently said that a bout between the two still has a long way to go but insisted that there has been movement in a positive direction.
It followed reports that Pacquiao had agreed terms on a 2 May bout in Las Vegas, the report added.
