American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr is ready to silence Amir Khan when they meet in a megabucks fight next year, while his father and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr said that his unbeaten son will demolish the Bolton fighter.
According to The Daily Star, Mayweather Jr, unbeaten in his 44 professional bouts, is due to meet Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas on September 14 but his father said that he badly wanted his son to beat Amir Khan, who, according to him, was not an outstanding fighter.
Khan, 26, a former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, believes he is just one fight away from a clash with Mayweather and said that once you beat him, you become the best pound-for-pound fighter around.
Khan said that although Mayweather would make a lot of money with the Alvarez fight, he could not think of any other boxer with as big of a following or pull as him that the American could fight.
