McIlroy cuts Spieth's lead at Augusta Masters

Defending champion Jordan Spieth struggled to a two-over 74 as he maintained a one-stroke lead after Rory McIlroy staged a spirited comeback in the second round of the Augusta Masters.

Four-time major champion McIlroy, aiming to complete a complete a career Grand Slam by winning the green jacket, fired three birdies in the final six holes to move to three under par.

Spieth had been leading by five shots before the Northern Irishman posted a one-under 71, Sport24 reported.

Spieth will join the list of stalwarts featuring Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo to win the Masters for a second year on the trot.

Meanwhile, ace Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri made the cut and finished at a total of five-over 149.
