Meerut: FIR loged for acid attack threat

An FIR has been lodged against a man here for allegedly threatening two girls living in his neighbourhood.

The accused threatened to throw acid at the girls, following which they also stopped going to the school.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Meerut, Rajesh Pandey said that they have lodged an FIR, and are searching for the accused.

"Both parties are immediate neighbours. We have registered a complaint on the basis of the girls' statement. The accused is absconding and we are searching for him," said the SSP

"There were differences between the families, they came to the police earlier as well and settled the matter. For the time being, we have registered a case based on the girls' complaint. We'll investigate the matter further once we find the accused," he added.

The girls went to the Superintendent of Police (City) RN Singh, on Sunday and registered a complaint.
