Owen, who scored his most famous goal for England against the Argentina in 1998, believes that Alejandro Sabella's men would go on to lift their third World Cup trophy this year.
According to the Mirror, Argentina is second favourite for the tournament behind hosts Brazil, with European sides again expected to struggle in the altitude and make it to the finals in South America.
The former Liverpool striker said that he believes Argentina are favourites, as they have good players throughout the team, but Aguero and Messi just tip it.
Owen added that it would be extremely difficult to stop Aguero and Messi from scoring, and also said that Argentina is more or less in their own backyard at Brazil as they are used to the altitude and weather.
Owen further added that he honestly believes that Argentina has more quality than other nations.
