Mirren, DeVito join Jolie's 'The One and Only Ivan'

Dame Helen Mirren and actor Danny DeVito have joined the cast of actress Angelina Jolie's upcoming production venture 'The One and Only Ivan'.

Directed by Thea Sharrock, the film is an adaptation of the Newbery Medal-winning book of the same name by Katherine Applegate, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Besides producing, Jolie will also be voicing one of the characters in the movie, which went on floors earlier this week.

The story of the book follows a silverback gorilla named Ivan, who lives in a cage in a shopping mall along with an elephant named Stella and a stray dog called Bob. Ivan does not remember life before the mall, but when a baby elephant named Ruby enters and Ivan finds himself taking care of her, he begins to rediscover his previous life and concocts a plan to take the baby elephant to a new home.
