Stunt trainer Cheetah Shetty on Tuesday said that the death of two Kannada actors during a water stunt on Monday was an outcome of sheer negligence.

Shetty said he had seen the video and felt that the accident could have been avoided.

"I am saddened with the incident and this is an outcome of sheer negligence. A lot could have been done to save them. I saw the video, the hero first pushes the two boys and then jumps himself, the hero was brought back on a boat, these two stunt men should also have been carried on the boat. 100 percent care should have been taken," said Shetty.

In an appalling incident, two Kannada actors yesterday went missing after they jumped from a chopper into the Thippagondanahalli Reservoir during a movie shoot here.

The incident happened when the crew of upcoming Kannada film 'Masti Gudi' was shooting for the climax scene.

The scene had the two actors jumping off from a chopper into the reservoir.

Lead actor Duniya Vijay along with co-actors Uday and Anil had to jump off from the helicopter from a height of over 100 feet. While Vijay, swam to safety, the other two, Anil and Uday, failed to surface.

The video shows three of the actors jumping into the water but only Vijay managed to swam to the bank.

A search is on for the other two actors.

According to reports, the filmmakers may be charged with negligence as there weren't enough safety nets in place.
