The missing Malaysia Airlines plane sent two bursts of technical data to the airline before vanishing.
The data could help investigators understand what went wrong with the missing aircraft.
According to New Scientist, for maintenance purpose, most airlines use the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).
The ACARS automatically collates and files four technical reports during every flight so that engineers can know of any problem during the flight.
According to the report, it is understood that the maker of the missing plane's engines, Rolls Royce, received two data reports from the at its global engine health monitoring center in London.
In yet another startling revelation surrounding the mysterious disappearance of the plane, investigators have reportedly found that mobile phones of some of the passengers were still ringing when called.
As many as 19 families have come forward to tell investigators that the mobile phones of those on board were still ringing, giving hope to the survival of those on the ill-fated MH370.
The families have asked the authorities to try to track the GPS to where the stranded passengers might be.
