In a crucial match against Australia, captain of the Indian women's cricket team Mithali Raj added yet another feather to her cap.
As soon as she scored 34 runs, the Indian skipper became the leading run-getter in One-Day Internationals, going past England player Charlotte Edwards' record of 5992 ODI runs.
Mithali was on a record-making spree as she became the first player in women's cricket game to have reached 6000 ODI runs when she launched legspinner Kristen Beams for a six.
Apart from these two, few other records that Mithali broke and made today are:
Most number of fifties by any woman player - 49
Most number of consecutive fifties by any woman player - 7
The Indian skipper currently has an average of over 51.
Most number of times carrying her bat to her name - 48.
