Models flaunt trendy hairstyles on Mumbai runway

Models flounced down the runway here this week with stylish hairdos. Celebrities attended the special event of honouring a renowned Bollywood stylist.

Bollywood celebrated the 25th anniversary of a hair saloon established by a renowned stylist, Shiva, in Mumbai on Saturday.

The ramp sizzled with models wearing funky coloured wigs and unique hairstyles.

Bollywood director, Mastan Burmawalla, said Shiva started his career from a scratch and reached the Bollywood industry, which was a huge achievement.

"His biggest achievement is he started from scratch. And he is counted in the best designers and hairstylists Bollywood knows of. We are also his clients," said Burmawalla.

Shiva, celebrity stylist, also launched a book showcasing the styles and trends of his various hairstyles.

Well-Known Bollywood filmmaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, said it was good to see that people follow stylish trends and have become fashion conscious.

"I feel that a good changeover has come today. People are becoming aware about different styles and clothes because of the media promotion. I feel good. Even the common middle class man today wants to look good and post trendy pictures on Facebook and twitter," said Bhandarkar.

Famed Bollywood directors like Bhandarkar and Abbas-Mastan and actors like Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse graced the occasion.
