Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday expressed his gratitude to the people of Madhya Pradesh for electing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the third straight term and said his party will now work for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
"I thank people for electing the BJP government for the third time. This victory belongs to the belief of the people of MP. It is the victory of their love and confidence. I thank them and will like assure them that we will leave no stone unturned in the path of MP's development. We will work day and night for them," Chouhan told media here on Sunday.
"I want to thank Narendra Modi and central leadership who supported us and took part in the campaigns," he added.
Aiming 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Chouhan said, "Now we will work to form the government in Delhi. The centre government has always been biased. They have been discriminating with the people of MP. But, now the people of the country are fed up with the Congress government. In 2014, under Narendra Modi's leadership, we will definitely form the government in Delhi,"
The BJP is currently leading in three of the four states that had polls between November 11 and December 4. It is expected to get a majority in Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In Chhattisgarh, latest reports indicate a close contest and outcome between the BJP and the Congress.
Vote counting is still on in the four states amidst tight security and the final results are expected to be announced later this afternoon.
