Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was welcomed at Mumbai airport with party members chanting his name on Monday, and the Gujarat Chief Minister said he was confident that his party would be elected into power in the 2014 general elections.

"Those who live for the people, those who die for the people are now coming to Delhi," Modi told the gathered supporters on his arrival in Mumbai.

Modi also took a jibe at the ruling UPA government, and accused them of rampant corruption which, he said, has affected the upliftment of the poor in the country. Modi also challenged anyone to bring forth corruption cases against him, and assured his supporters of his clean governance.

"It is all because of the corrupt government that poor don't have food to eat," Modi said.

"IB, CBI or RAW-no sort of organisation can be used against me," Modi assured.

Narendra Modi, who was announced as BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general election earlier last month, is in Mumbai to address industrialists and traders later in the day.
