Modi heading a government, but unable to run the nation, claims Nitish (ANI Exclusive)

Patna, Oct.29 (ANI): Targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his NDA Government at the Centre, Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday claimed that the former had somehow achieved the goal of forming and heading a government, but is now unable to run or lead the nation.

"Narendra Modi has somehow formed the government, but he is unable to run the nation. You (the BJP) are in majority, so, there is no fear till 2019 (when the next general elections are due). You have formed the government at the Centre, but you are even unable to run parliament," Nitish told ANI in an exclusive interview here.

"If you are not acting on time, then you will have to face the difficulties and the consequences. There is a lot of intolerance in the society. Today, numerous writers are forced to return their awards to the Sahitya Akademi. They are very disappointed and sad with the present state of affairs. There is no relief. Whosoever are there in the government are not fulfilling their duties and responsibilities," he added.

In a resolution passed earlier this month, the Sahitya Akademi stressed the need to protect India's diverse culture but sidestepped demands from protesters for holding a condolence meet for noted Kannada scholar M.M.Kalburgi in Delhi and for taking action against Akademi President Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari for his 'insensitive remarks'. It also steered clear of any mention of the Dadri lynching.

Like the writers, ten former students of the Film and Television Institute (FTII) have returned their national awards in support of the present FTII students.

Film directors Dibakar Banerjee, Paresh Kamdar, Lipika Singh, Nishtha Jain, Anand Patwardhan, Kirti Nakhwa, Harshvardhan Kulkarni, Hari Nair, Indrani Lahiri and Rakesh Sharma have returned their awards in protest of the FTII issue and also against the killing of rationalists and writers like Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and Kalburgi.
