Met department has forecast that monsoon will reach Delhi and adjoining areas by the end of this month.
Heavy rains lashed Delhi and NCR on Monday night and Tuesday morning, bringing relief from the scorching heat.
Director, Met Department, B P Yadav has said monsoon has covered most parts of the country and parameters are favourable for monsoon to reach Delhi by 30th of June.
He said rainfall will increase in Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in the next couple of days.
Weather in Delhi has remained warm and humid during the past couple of days despite the pre monsoon showers.
The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal and the minimum settled at 25 degrees Celsius.
