New Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that Manchester United and Manchester City were not worthy champions when he left Chelsea, and that a few years ago the champion teams were better.

According to metro.co.uk, Mourinho, who returned to Chelsea this summer after his controversial exit in 2007, fired the jibe at the Manchester clubs on the eve of the new season.

He expressed that despite City and United scooping the title in the last two campaigns, they were not true winners, the report said.

Mourinho said that Chelsea had a points record and they were true champions along with Arsenal.
