Moyes insists Van Persie 'settled at United'

Manchester United boss David Moyes has reportedly insisted that Robin van Persie is settled at the club despite claims that Van Persie might want to leave as he is unhappy with the management.

Moyes reportedly made it clear that he does not expect Van Persie to follow captain Nemanja Vidic, who would move out to Inter Milan next season, out of Old Trafford despite claims from Ronald de Boer that the striker was contemplating his future with United.

According to the Guardian, Moyes said that he had no idea how De Boer knew about Persie and added that he had no issues with Van Persie's comments about United's tactics following their 2-0 defeat to Olympiakos.

Moyes said that the statistics, which reportedly show a sharp deterioration in Van Persie and Wayne Rooney's link-up play, proved that United had lost one game with Rooney and Van Persie in the team up until their previous three or four games, before the two came back from injury.

Moyes further added that Olympiakos was the 'poorest' United had played and it is only in Olympiakos that dragged up Van Persie and Rooney's link-up play, during which Van Persie reportedly played only one pass to Rooney.

United, who currently stands at the seventh position in the Premier League 18 points behind leaders Chelsea, lost to West Bromwich Albion earlier this season and desperately need to win their matches against Liverpool and Manchester City this month.
