Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday hit back at Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh after he alleged that the ruling BJP had got 10,000 burqas stitched for its 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' to be held in Bhopal tomorrow for which director of a real estate had paid Rs 42 lakh to the tailor, and said that some leaders of the ruling party at the Centre are in the habit of making such frivolous statements.

"The Congress is scared of the kind of arrangements that are being made. And, therefore, some of our friends in the Congress are in the habit of making such frivolous statements. The statements do not carry any weight and nobody believes them. Even the public takes it as entertainment," he told media in Bhopal.

Digvijay Singh earlier in the day alleged that 10,000 burqas were purchased in Indore to feign the support of the Muslim minority for the BJP.

"In order to purchase 10,000 burqas for the 'Karyakata Mahakumbh', Devendra Jain, director of the real estate company, Dilip Buildcon had personally come to Indore and paid Rs 42 lakh in advance to Zeenat Tailors, who had given a bill of Rs 44.60 lakh," he told media in Indore.

The Congress General Secretary also produced before the media the bill issued by Zeenat Tailors.

"The relationship between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Dilip Buildcon can well be understood as Jain has made the payment for burqas," he added.

The 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' is to be addressed by Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Bhopal. Modi's address will be as part of his party's election campaign in the lead-up to the 2014 general elections.
