MSME-TDC to set up metallurgy schools in India

MSME-Technology Development Centre Agra, a national level institute for foundry and forge technology, has proposed to set up metallurgy schools across the country.

The schools will serve as a motivation for student, artist, sculpts, blacksmith, metal worker and metal designer to add the casting of metals to their sphere of activity.

According to MSME TDC, there is acute shortage of skilled manpower in the metallurgical sector particularly in foundry. Substantial students could not continue their study after 10th standard and also huge number of student discontinue their study before 10th.

"These 10th pass/school dropout students can be trained and make them employable. Beside student, artist, sculptors, blacksmith, metal works/ designer may also be interested to add casting of metals to their sphere of activity," said a notification.

The training centre will provide syllabus prepared as per the need of industry and in line with course conducted at Germany.

The course content covers the topics like production, pattern making, moulding with the use of patterns and cores, core- making, melting, casting, unpacking, fettling and quality control.

In this context, MSME TDC, Agra is inviting bids from registered legal entities to be service provider for the establishment and running of metallurgy school.

The training centre has different divisions equipped with latest machinery and equipment.

It undertake product development; machining of component and preparation and dies/tools, intricate pattern; testing of metals conforming of national and international standards; consultancy services for project preparation, commissioning, rejection control, energy conservation, conducting short term, long term need based skill development and training programme.
