Following Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's implementation of the Odd-even scheme in the national capital, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has asked college and university students to adopt the plan to minimise traffic congestion in Srinagar.

"We receive suggestions to implement the odd even formula in Jammu and Kashmir to control traffic mess in the state. We are in the process to make the plan how to control traffic mess in the state," Mehbooba told the media here.

The chief minister was speaking to the media after chairing a high-level meeting on traffic problems.

She called upon the students of various colleges and universities to set an example by implementing odd-even scheme.

The odd-even phase II in the national capital started on April 15 and continued till April 30.

The first phase of the scheme was implemented in the month of January this year.

Calling the second phase of the odd-even scheme 'very successful', Kejriwal earlier said the government will soon come out with a separate policy for cab and bus aggregators which would enable more taxis and buses on the roads.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai said the success of the second phase of the scheme was 99.60 per cent, which is five per cent more than the first phase of the road rationing measure in January.

Kejriwal said the Delhi Government was augmenting Delhi Transport Corporation's bus fleet besides taking a series of measures to improve the public transport.
