Boxing legend Muhammad Ali's daughter has revealed that her father is siding with Manny Pacquiao in the much anticipated bout between the Filipino boxer and politician and unbeaten US boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather and Pacquiao would go neck-to-neck on May 2 in Las Vegas in what is being termed as the biggest bout in the sport's history and there has reportedly been a rift between Ali's family about who the champ is backing in the fight.
According to Ali's daughter Rasheda, the boxing legend is 'Team Pacquiao' and has been a huge fan and friend of the Filipino for many years, TMZ.com reported.
However, an Ali spokesperson issued a statement that stated that the stories that Ali had chosen a favorite in the fight were false.
But Rasheda claimed that she stands by her original statements, saying that everything in TMZ Sports' original story is an absolute fact, adding that it was extremely accurate and exactly what she said to the word.
Rasheda insisted that honestly, truthfully, everything she said was true, adding that Ali is a fan of Pacquiao and for political reasons, or other reasons, or because her father didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, his wife Lonnie didn't want him to pick a side.
However, Ali's daughter added that after TMZ's article came out, Lonnie was fine with it, insisting that other outlets took the story and twisted the words around and basically made it seem like her father was going to be sitting in Pacquiao's corner the night of the fight.
