Mumbai: 20-year old accused commits suicide inside lock-up

A 20-year old accused, arrested over the charges of fraud, committed suicide in Mumbai's Andheri Police Station on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Vijay Salvi, ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling with his vest, inside the police lock-up.

As soon as the policemen saw him hanging from the ceiling, they rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The matter has been handed over to the Mumbai crime branch for further investigation.
