Following his meeting with Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Oval Maidan cricket ground here on Sunday, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was all praises for the 'remarkable' royal couple and said that he was impressed with the fact that Prince William follows and understands cricket.

"It was a fantastic experience to meet the Duke and the Duchess and they are a remarkable couple. They made us feel so comfortable and they are really humble, very simple and the noble causes that they are supporting all over the world shows what a kind heart they have," Sachin told the media here.

Adding that it was nice to know that Prince William understood and followed the gentleman's game as well, Sachin said that he discussed the sports T20 format with the Duke and also discussed tennis with him.

"All in all, it was a wonderful experience. God bless the couple and keep them always healthy and happy," he added.

Earlier today, the royal couple were seen letting their hair down for a friendly game of cricket at the Oval Maidan ground, where they impressed everyone with their batting skills, especially Kate, who smashed a six.

After the outing, they proceeded to Banganga Water Tank to speak with children from the charity SMILE, from where they will head back to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel for a glitzy evening of entertainment and fundraising, where some of Bollywood's biggest stars will attend the dinner.

According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar will be present for the event.

The royal couple arrived here on a seven-day tour of India and Bhutan, aimed at building strong bonds with the two countries.

The couple, who are on their first visit to India, will take off for Delhi on Monday.

After their stay in Delhi, the Duke and Duchess are scheduled to visit the Kaziranga National Park before they proceed to their visit to Bhutan.

They will be back in India to visit the Taj Mahal and will depart for the U.K. from New Delhi.
