Murray backs Olympic 'heroes' reunion to inspire Wimbledon title success

British No.1 Andy Murray has said that he believes that his reunion with other Olympic heroes in the Royal Box at the All England Club can inspire him to Wimbledon glory.

The Scot was among a host of British Olympic and Paralympic stars like Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Laura Trott and Anthony Joshua in the Royal Box, who received standing ovations from the Centre Court, the Mirror reports.

Delighted with the reception he and the other Olympians received, Murray urged the fans to get behind him beginning with the fourth round to inspire him to success at the All England Club this year, adding that it was a nice feeling standing with the other Olympians given that they do not get to enjoy on the courts as they are tense then.

However, the US Open champion said that even a victory at Wimbledon cannot top the success that he had at the Olympics, adding that the Games was the best ten days of his career and was even ahead of the US Open victory because of the whole experience.

Stating that aura about both Olympics and the Wimbledon are different from each other, Murray further said that the Olympics practise sessions are quieter as compared to the Wimbledon ones, adding that each player stayed in separate locker rooms and practiced on the courts during the London Olympics.

Despite the absence of Federer and Rafael Nadal in the second week, Murray is taking nothing for granted, saying that he needs to be ready as there are a many other experienced players, although he added that it had been a tough job for him to concentrate because of the injuries and upsets going on at the tournament.

Murray, who won gold on Centre Court after beating Roger Federer last year before ending his Grand Slam wait by winning the US Open, faces No.20 seed Mikhail Youzhny in the fourth round of Wimbledon, the report further said.

Meanwhile, the report added that Australian tennis star Bernard Tomic knocked out ninth seed Richard Gasquet 7-6, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 to set up a fourth-round meeting with seventh seed Tomas Berdych.
