Britain number one Andy Murray posted a satirical tweet following his Miami Open defeat to Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday, stating that he didn't appreciate being served a bagel in the title deciding set from the Serbian on Easter.
Djokovic bagged his fifth Miami Open title after defeating Murray 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-0 in a gruelling contest. Despite losing the first set by a whisker, Murray staged a strong comeback and won the second set before losing the momentum in the deciding set with a bagel- a colloquial term in Tennis for winning or losing a set 6-0.
After the match, Murray congratulated Djokovic on Twitter on a great start to the year, before making a satirical reference that the egg (bagel) wasn't appreciated on Easter, News.com.au reported.
With the win, Djokovic bettered his record against Murray to 18-8 while the Briton will climb from fourth to third in the rankings.
