Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf has been refused access to the official data showing details of the abettors in the 2007 proclamation of emergency.

The public prosecutor in the high treason trial refused to hand over Musharraf's counsel, Dr Farogh Naseem, the detailed copies.

Naseem on the very first hearing after the indictment of Musharraf requested that the three-judge special court grant disclosure, copies of inquiries and the investigation report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Express Tribune reports.

Prosecutor Akram Sheikh however refused to hand over the copies, stating that the law does not require such a demand so it is not appropriate to give access of such official records to the accused who abrogated the Constitution, the report said.

Dr Naseem contended that in the proclamation of emergency on November 3, 2007 the prime minister, all governors and members of the military leadership were consultees.

Naseem told the court that the proclamation of emergency was a public document duly published in law reports, the report added.
