The Supreme Court (SC) denied Pakistan's former President Pervez Musharraf, the right to file nomination papers after he failed to appear in court on Thursday.
The SC had issued a directive, last week as per which Musharraf was permitted to file nomination papers for the July 25 general elections provided he appeared in person before the court on June 14.
Musharraf had then filed his nomination papers from NA-1 Chitral but failed to appear in court by 2 pm on Thursday.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar earlier said, if he fails to appear, he will have to face action according to the law.
Musharraf's lawyer Qamar Afzal asked the court for him to appear before the court.
The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary-General Dr Amjad informed the CJP that the ex-president was trying to get new dates from the court.
A four-member bench of the apex court heard Musharraf's review petition against his disqualification by the Peshawar High Court in 2013.
Musharraf, who is in Dubai currently, has not returned to Pakistan since March 2016 on the pretext of medical treatment.
