The father of the youth who has been arrested from Karnataka for allegedly operating a pro- Islamic State (IS) Twitter account, on Saturday said he cannot believe that his son could commit such an act.
"My son can never do this, don't believe this. I just came to know from the media that he was arrested this morning," he said.
"It's totally dependent on the media to help me bail him out. I got to know everything through the media," he said.
He also said that his son had told him earlier that his email was hacked and that he had no knowledge about it.
Earlier today, Bangalore Police arrested Mehdi Masroor Biswas for allegedly operating a pro- IS Twitter account.
An investigation by Britain's Channel 4 News had stated that the @ShamiWitness account, which reportedly had a massive 17,700 followers, was being run by an executive based in Bangalore.
The report also claimed that the executive was ready to join the Islamic State himself if his family had not been dependant on him.
As per reports, the social networking account had also tweeted US aid worker Peter Kassig's execution and other videos, moments after they first appeared on the internet.
