Nadal into last 16, Azarenka survives scare at US Open

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal eased into the last 16 of the US Open on day 6, winning in straight sets against Ivan Dodig while Belarus' Victoria Azarenka survived a scare against Alize Cornet of France.

Other top seeds had a safe passage into the next round, with Ana Ivanovic, Serena Williams, Simona Halep, David Ferrer, Richard Gasquet, all posting easy wins.

British qualifier Daniel Evans' fairytale run came to an end with a loss to Spain's Tommy Robredo, where he went down 6-7, 1-6, 6-4, 5-7.

In the men's doubles, Bryan brothers are continuing to dominate, getting an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over Eric Butorac and Frederik Nielsen.
