Spanish tennis ace Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from next week's ATP Halle event, as a part of his grass court preparations for Wimbledon.
The French Open finalist, who will be going after a record eighth title in Paris against David Ferrer, has long had problems with his knees, the Daily Star reports.
Confirming his withdrawal, Nadal said that his doctors have recommended that he rest after Roland Garros.
Meanwhile, American Serena Williams beat Russia's Maria Sharapova 6-4 6-4 to lift the women's title in Paris yesterday, the report added.
