Amid escalating protests in Nashik over the attempted rape on a five-year-old girl by a 16-year-old boy at Talegaon near Trimbakeshwar, the schools and colleges in the area has been issued instructions to remain closed until further orders.
The agitated villagers torched government buses and pelted stones at the convoy of Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan yesterday.
The police officials have asked the protesters to maintain calm and assured justice.
The doctors have, meanwhile, said three gynaecologists are monitoring the victim constantly.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that a chargesheet has been filed against the accused.
"The accused has been arrested and an order to file a chargesheet at the earliest has been given," Fadnavis said.
