Naval officer shot self accidentally, dies

Sub Lt Tejveer Singh of the Indian Navy, who hails from Haryana, died after he shot himself "accidently" while handling firearms onboard INS Kuthar.

According to reports, the 24-year-old officer "accidently" fired at himself Tuesday evening, and was immediately shifted to a Naval Hospital, INHS Kalyani, in Vishapatnam, however, he succumbed to his injuries.

The family of the naval officer has been informed about the incident.

Meanwhile, a Board of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the matter.
