The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has said rejected a statement of Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Kashmir being an integral part of that nation and that the dispute was a bilateral issue.

Chairman of the ruling PML-N party Raja Zafarul Haq ruled out the much-talked about option of finding an "out of the box solution" to the Kashmir dispute, Dawn News reports.

Haq said that member countries of the United Nations could not reach any agreement on the disputed issue without bringing it to the notice of the Security Council.

Earlier, Foreign Office spokesman reacted strongly to the Khurshid's statement and asked New Delhi to avoid negative propaganda.

Khurshid had objected to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's statement on seeking U.S. intervention for resolving the issue, denying acceptance of any third-party mediation in their bilateral issue.

Haq claimed that the two countries had vowed to resolve the Kashmir dispute based on 23 unanimously passed UN resolutions under the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration.
