On the eve of Founder's Day, students from all national and international campuses of Amity presented colorful cultural performances of their respective states.
The occasion was the 18th Mega Inter-Institutional Sports Meet held at the Amity University Campus here on Monday.
The chairman and founder president of the Amity Group, Dr. Ashok K.Chauhan, felicitated over 1693 students and 77 faculty and staff members for their exemplary display of sportsmanship and skill in more than 22 sports events which included shooting, basketball, kabbaddi, cricket, football, table tennis, chess, swimming, high jump, badminton, volleyball and various other games.
Amity School of Engineering and Technology lifted the Winners Trophy of Sangathan 2016 with 10 Gold Medals, 12 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals; Amity Law School, Noida was declared the First Runners Up with 9 Gold Medals, 15 Silver Medals and 07 Bronze Medals.
The combined team from Amity Institute of Psychology, Amity Institute of Neuropsychology and Neurosciences, Amity Institute Behavioral and Allied Sciences and Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences was declared Second Runners Up with 12 Gold Medals and 3 Bronze Medals.
Keeping in view the importance of Sports and the virtues they instill in the players, the Founder's Day in Amity is celebrated every year in the form of month long Inter-Institutional Mega Sports Meet "Sangathan" wherein thousands of students from all Amity Campuses across India and abroad compete with each other in sports events and vintage games. The meet concludes on the birthday of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group with the felicitation of winners.
During the occasion, a "Happiness Tree" was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan which symbolizes the elements of happiness in an artistic manner.
Prof. (Dr.) Kalpana Sharma- Chairperson, Organizing Committee Sangathan 2016 said that Sangathan 2016 witnessed the participation by over 15, 000 students from all national and international campuses of Amity
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan said it is important to participate and expressed with conviction that very soon, every state of India will have an Amity Campus.
