The National Seismological Centre (NSC) of Nepal recorded two aftershocks post the Gorkha region earthquake on Monday.

According to Ekantipur, the earthquake reportedly had its epicentre 166 km from Mugu in Nepal.

It occurred at 09:07:47 IST, with a Latitude of 27.3 N and Longitude of 85.9 E. with depth 10 Kilometers.

These ones too were strong enough at 4.6 and 4.7 on the Richter scale although nowhere near the April quake measured at magnitude-7.8.

The quakes hit the region at 9.22 a.m. While that one killed some 9,000 people and injured as many as 22,000, there is no news yet of anyone being injured by the temblor today. The quakes today sparked panic among the people and they could be seen rushing out of their homes onto the streets.

An aftershock with local magnitude 4.6 jolted Ramechhap district at 9:22 am today.

According to the NSC, its epicentre was close to Sunarpani of the district.

Similarly, another aftershock with magnitude 4.7 rattled the district at 10:06 a.m.

The NSC said that its epicentre was close to Kathior of the district.

The tremblor was an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that rocked the nation on April 25, 2015, the NSC informed.

The tremors were also felt in various parts of the Kathmandu Valley.

The aftershocks were recorded after nine days.

The last aftershock was recorded at 6 a.m. on February 18 with its epicenter at Dhading district.
