Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is visiting Jhakri town in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh today to inspect Asia's biggest underground Nathpa-Jhakri hydro-power project.
The project has a power generation capacity of 1500 megawatt.
Prime Minister Dahal is also expected to hold discussions on hydro-power projects in Nepal with officials of Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking.
The Nigam is commissioning various hydro-power projects in several states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Arunachal Pradesh.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Nepal Prime Minister's visit.
