'Nervous' England should stick with Giles despite miserable World T20 campaign: Mickey Arthur

Former Australian coach Mickey Arthur has reportedly called on their Ashes rivals England to hold their nerves and stick with their limited-overs coach Ashley Giles despite a miserable World Twenty20 campaign.

Arthur feels that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) should tread carefully regarding Andrew Flower's successor, given that Peter Moores has emerged as a likely front runner for a coaching job that appeared to be in Giles' hands.

According to the Independent, Arthur said that England clearly had a succession plan with Andy Flower, with Giles taking over as the one-day coach for the team, adding that one would have thought that the ECB would not turn off that succession plan.

The former Australian coach said that he feels if the ECB continue with their succession plans it would throw English cricket into a massive amount of turmoil and it could turn out to be chaos for them.

Arthur said that Moores has suddenly been made the front runner for the coaching job but it would be tough for him to come back and do it again, adding that he feels that the ECB should give the job to Giles and see how it goes.

Arthur, who is a former South African coach, had been involved in an unexpected piece of succession planning in England last summer, the report added.
