A new app for the iPhone allows its user to create unlimited disposable virtual numbers and hide their original number from the spying eyes.
The RingMeMaybe virtual phone number service lets users have multiple active numbers at once by a simple process and tag each number with a descriptive name.
According to CBS News, the service will show incoming calls with the ID of the caller as well as the disposable number's tag, so that the user knows what to expect when answering the call.
For instance, users can use one number for an online auction while another number is reserved for job-hunting and a third for online dating sites.
Although the app is free, but creating each disposable number costs about one dollar and expires after one week.
The disposable numbers provided by RingMeMaybe are inbound only and can't be used for outgoing calls or even receive text messages.
