Nigella Lawson's former housekeeper has revealed that the celebrity chef hired experts to decorate her Christmas tree and called in the caterers to cook for her family.

Former assistants Francesca Grillo and sister Elisabetta said that the only time Lawson do anything on Christmas was when she once made a Christmas pudding, News.com.au reported.

Grillo said that Lawson and Saatchi would relax and let their staff organise the festive season and a team would set up the tree.

She added that the 53-year-old chef would call in caterers to do the cooking, and that in the last few years the family ate out.
