Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday launched a fresh salvo against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by asking him to 'show moral courage and accept insufficiencies in delivering on old promises.

"Modiji, stop the rhetoric's, chest thumping & everyday new promises. Show moral courage. Respect the sentiments of people of Bihar who have been troubled by your unkept promises & unsavoury comments," Nitish said in a series of tweets directed towards the Prime Minister.

He also demanded that the Prime Minister takes back his 'derogatory' words on questioning the DNA of Bihar, calling the state 'Bimaru' and the people 'unfortunate'.

Nitish added that he wanted the Prime Minister to deliver his promise of Special Status to Bihar.

"Show moral courage. Deliver your promise of Special Status to Bihar. Don't mislead with so-called package where 86% is repackaged old schemes. No new promises please. Outline a credible action plan to deliver on the promises you have made to the people till date," he said.

"Show moral courage to live up to your 2014 election promise of decriminalization & announce no ticket to candidates with criminal background," Nitish added.

Earlier, in a befitting reply to Prime Minister Modi's DNA jibe, Nitish Kumar said that the people of his state will be sending samples of their hair and nails to the Prime Minister's Office for a DNA analysis.

Prime Minister Modi addressed his fourth Parivartan rally at Bhagalpur today and attacked the Nitish Kumar-led state government for the 'deteriorating' conditions in Bihar.
