Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has refuted claims of bribing the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) but confirmed that a deal was struck with the latter for touring Pakistan.

Zimbabwe became the first test playing nation to tour Pakistan after the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team, which left six people dead and eight players injured.

There were widespread rumours that Zimbabwean players were paid USD 12,500 each to be convinced to make the visit.

Reports claimed that USD 5,00,000 were paid by PCB to the Zimbabwean cricket board before the tour.

Khan, however, said that it was just a one-off deal, adding that it did not mean that they would be paying every team which tours Pakistan, the Dawn reported.

Delighted with the successful staging of the tour, Khan termed it an 'exceptional series' and said they were very thankful to Zimbabwe for visiting Pakistan.
