Congress Party leader Rashid Alvi said here on Saturday ruled out the possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir after the ongoing state assembly polls.

He also criticized the BJP for its double standards.

"There is no question of the BJP forming the government in Kashmir. They have double standards. In Jammu, they say they will end Article 370, but in the Kashmir Valley they say they will not take any decision over Article 370 until the people say something, they cheat people," said Alvi.

"In Kashmir, the Congress will grow as a strong party, and it is not possible to form any government in the state without the Congress," he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address an election rally in Kishtwar District of Jammu today. Polling for the first phase of state assembly elections will take place on November 25.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi had earlier on Friday campaigned for her party by holding rallies in Bandipura and Ramban areas of the state.

In the first phase of assembly elections, along with nine assembly segments of Ladakh and Kashmir regions, all the six assembly seats of Kishtwar , Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu will be going to polls on November 25.
